Schedule I v0.4.7 Open Beta: What Changed, Plus a Save Warning
Short version: v0.4.7 is an open beta, not the default version yet. It raises laundering capacity at all three original fronts, makes Hyland Medical a business you can buy, and rebuilds the character appearance system. That last change is the one to plan around: once a save has been played on the beta, its appearances won't load properly if you switch back to the default branch, so back up first.
What changed: v0.4.6f13 (default branch) → v0.4.7 (open beta)
| Area | v0.4.6f13 (default branch) | v0.4.7 (open beta) | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post Office laundering capacity | 4,000 | 5,000 | +25%. More dirty cash fits through the Post Office before it caps out. |
| Car Wash laundering capacity | 6,000 | 8,000 | +33%. |
| Taco Ticklers laundering capacity | 8,000 | 12,000 | +50%, the biggest jump of the three. |
| Hyland Medical | Not a purchasable business | Purchasable business with a new interior | One more laundering front to buy. The patch notes do not list its capacity or price. |
| Player appearance save data | Legacy format (accessories, layers, AvatarSettings) | New format (AvatarObjects, NakedAppearance + Outfit); old saves convert automatically on load | One-way change. If you play a save on the beta and then switch back to the default branch, converted appearances will not load properly. Copy your save folder before opting in. |
| Mixed-product icons | Generated and stored the old way | Optimized generation and saving | The developer expects several hundred MB less memory use on late-game saves. |
| Thrown props in multiplayer | Could fall out of sync between players | Fixed | Co-op sessions should agree on where thrown objects land. |
Who this affects
- Default-branch players (v0.4.6f13): nothing changes until TVGS moves v0.4.7 out of beta. The latest default-branch patch is v0.4.6f13, posted August 14, 2026.
- Beta players: everything in the table above applies now.
- Co-op groups: everyone in the session should be on the same branch. The notes don’t say whether beta and default-branch players can join each other, so don’t count on it.
The laundering numbers side by side
| Business | v0.4.6f13 | v0.4.7 beta | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Post Office | 4,000 | 5,000 | +1,000 (+25%) |
| Car Wash | 6,000 | 8,000 | +2,000 (+33%) |
| Taco Ticklers | 8,000 | 12,000 | +4,000 (+50%) |
| Hyland Medical | not purchasable | purchasable | capacity not stated |
The percentages are our arithmetic. The capacity figures are copied from the v0.4.7 notes.
What else is in the beta
- Special customer groups: four named groups (Hippies, Party Bus, Businessmen, Bikers) with new behaviours such as talking on the phone, using a laptop, dancing and revving motorcycles. This is the “special customers” feature that won community vote #3 in April.
- Cosmetics: new glasses, hats, ties, shirts, hairstyles and facial hair, plus rubber mats (hardware store) and a Persian rug (Bleuball’s Boutique).
- Performance: NPC ragdoll physics are now created only when needed, and several trash LODs were fixed to reduce pop-in.
- Why the appearance rebuild: TVGS says the old system couldn’t support user-created cosmetics, which it lists as coming in a future update.
Before you opt in
- Close the game and copy your save folder somewhere safe.
- Opt in to the beta and play.
- If you want to go back, restore the copy instead of loading the converted save on the default branch.
